Sun Diego Charter has been a leading provider of charter bus transportation services throughout San Diego and Southern California since 1997. We operate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year out of three locations across greater San Diego and employ nearly 200 commercially licensed, professional motorcoach operators. We work extensively with the United States military, destination management and tour group companies, corporate entities, and local casinos, and provide services that are integral to the tourism and hospitality industries.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Operations Specialist is responsible for scheduling and dispatching drivers to the appropriate locations and times in accordance with the charters booked with our company including the distribution of all necessary paperwork for proper completion of assignments. The Operations Specialist must maintain, and file all associated documents and generate all required reports daily, weekly, monthly and annually.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

DISPATCH DRIVERS:
? Dispatch equipment and drivers by providing necessary work orders and other information for proper completion of assignments.
? Ensure necessary changes are communicated and minimized.
? Maintain communications with operations manager, maintenance department, sales department, and human resources department.
? Maintain familiarity with all routes and assigned changes or special instructions.
? Interface with the client or on-site customer representative when necessary.
? Update road failure and accident reports when applicable.
? Communicate any significant occurrence to the Operations Manager, Charter Operations Manager, and Director of Operations via email or telephone.

? Update and communicate changes to upcoming booking and ensure accuracy. Update schedule in accordance with all changes, informing the manager or director of any conflicts that arise.
? Performs additional duties and assignments as directed by the Charter Operations Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED:

LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability
to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHMATICAL ABILITY:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and
interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Ability to interpret and perform intermediate level computer functions and processes. Intermediate knowledge of MS word and Excel. Position involves heavy utilization of the
software platform that is used to manage all business logistics.

MULTITASKING
This position frequently demands fielding requests and calls from clients and employees, and the Operations Specialist should be adept at multitasking and working successfully in a multi communications (phone, email, text message) environment. Must be detail-oriented in the approach to work.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:
? High School diploma or GED.
? 2 years of transportation industry experience (knowledge/familiarity with DOT regulations and driver hours of service requirements).

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment normally entails the following:
