Sun Diego Charter has been a leading provider of charter bus transportation services throughout San Diego and Southern California since 1997. We operate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year out of three locations across greater San Diego and employ nearly 200 commercially licensed, professional motorcoach operators. We work extensively with the United States military, destination management and tour group companies, corporate entities, and local casinos, and provide services that are integral to the tourism and hospitality industries.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant performs a variety of technical, administrative, and confidential duties related to the day-to-day functioning of the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Assistant carries out
responsibilities in some or all the following functional areas: HRIS, training, and general human resources administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides a variety of duties including but not limited to the following:
• Assist employees and supervisors with the basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures
• Establish rapport with employees to encourage open and honest communication
• Schedule and conduct new hire orientations
• Train new hires on ADP and answer questions on Eselfserve
• Verify I-9 documentation
• Maintain employee information by entering and updating employment and status-change data
• Create and maintain confidential personnel files
• Assist with benefits administration by preparing benefit packets and answer basic benefit questions
• Respond to reference checks, verifications of employment, requests for records, and unemployment insurance claims, etc.
• Track and order inventory and uniforms
• Coordinate with the social committee to plan special company activities, events, and gatherings
• Compile reports and prepare spreadsheets as needed
• Track and file performance reviews and company training programs
• Answer phones (multiple lines) throughout the day and transfers calls to the correct department or individual
• Maintain the Company newsletter
• Assist the HR Generalist and/or Director of Human Resources with HR projects as needed

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Excellent listening skills; detail-oriented and accurate data entry
• Knowledge of HR and Payroll Systems
• Ability to review assignments or documents to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate reports, correspondence, and other job- related documents for various departments
• Understand and follow written and oral instructions
• Must be dependable; have a good professional working attitude
• Adaptable to interruptions throughout the day
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions
• Ability to anticipate and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in a typical office situation.
• Operate standard office equipment efficiently to include: Multi-line Telephone, Fax, Photocopy/Scanner, Computer/Printer, and 10-key

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of experience in an office/clerical support environment
• Some experience in human resources with a basic understanding of human resources functions

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment normally entails the following:
• Indoor work environment
• Moderate Noise
