Sun Diego Charter has been a leading provider of charter bus transportation services throughout San Diego and Southern California since 1997. We operate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year out of three locations across greater San Diego and employ nearly 200 commercially licensed,
professional motorcoach operators. We work extensively with the United States military, destination management and tour group companies, corporate entities, and local casinos, and provide services that are integral to the tourism and hospitality industries.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Charter Services Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day charter operations of the Business Development and Services department. The key objectives include creating and maintaining processes and managing and developing team members, clients, and strategic accounts. This position must increase departmental collaboration and maximize efficiencies and best practices while honoring Sun Diego’s approach to business that starts with our commitment to safety, operational excellence, and customer service.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Although additional duties and related tasks may be assigned, the essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:
Day-to-Day
? Take initiative and make recommendations to VP for process improvements
? Escalate and manage client issues by resolving complaints regarding sales and service
? Collaboratively work with VP to develop, implement and oversee programs to help ensure the sales goals, including Team Member development and implementation of training and process mapping for the department
? Travel to other locations and visit clients as needed
? Liaise with operations to ensure client needs are fulfilled effectively
? Supervise the daily farm-out activity across all locations, and cross-train team members such that tasks can be delegated
? Quality check bookings, quotes, and follow-ups
? Oversee daily, weekly and monthly reporting needs of the department and the company
? Recommend changes in services and policy after reviewing results
? Contribute to team goals by completing related duties and special projects as needed
Team Management
? Meet with reps one-on-one weekly to review performance, progress, and targets
? Plan and preside over weekly team meetings
? Help create the right culture at Sun Diego, by motivating and engaging the team with both incentive and non-financial motivators
? Manage department personnel, delivering performance reviews for everyone on a bi-annual basis
? Continue to grow a collaborative environment between all teams and regions
? Monitor, input, and follow up on quote requests and sales orders
? Assist HR in recruiting, selecting, onboarding, and training new team members as needed
Business Development
? Collaborate with leadership to set targets, performance plans, and rigorous, objective standards for Sales Department members
? Participate in sales calls as well as visit existing accounts, where determined by VP
? Work with team and VP to set and adjust pricing plan strategies for various market segments
? Work directly with VP to develop and maintain a sales calendar and use it to seek out new opportunities through lead follow-up and lead generation
? Conduct in-person meetings with current and prospective clients
Key Account Management
? Work with VP to set key account management strategies
? Implement key accounts with Account Services Coordinators, setting the expectation, providing direction and training on how to achieve desired results
? Monitor team efforts toward achieving success with key account management strategy

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED:
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Ability to read and interpret documents in English. Ability to write in English routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.

MATHEMATICAL ABILITY:
Demonstrates strong general math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing
whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Performs these operations with units of American

currency, Regular and Military time, and Imperial measurements of weight, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Intermediate computer skills and proficiency are essential to the successful performance of this role.
Multi-year experience using MS office suite, with an acumen for learning new programs and applications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
? Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field
? Minimum 3-years’ experience in a sales capacity
? Minimum 3-years’ experience in hospitality or customer service industry
? Minimum 1-year direct staff management experience
