Sun Diego Charter has been a leading provider of charter bus transportation services throughout San Diego and Southern California since 1997. We operate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year out of three locations across greater San Diego and employ nearly 200 commercially licensed, professional motor coach operators. We work extensively with the United States military, destination management and tour group companies, corporate entities, and local casinos, and provide services that are integral to the tourism and hospitality industries.

The Charter Motor Coach Operator is tasked with operating assigned vehicles to provide ground transportation services while honoring Sun Diego Charter’s approach to business that starts with our commitment to safety, operational excellence, and customer service. Services may include, but are not limited to, airport transfers, multi-day tours, shuttle programs, sporting events, grade school activities, collegiate level activities, and corporate events for a diverse set of clients, markets, and demographics. These services are interstate and intrastate.

Although additional duties and related tasks may be assigned, the essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

? Review route assignments and schedules with Charter Operations and ensure all information is fully understood before departing
? Receive and confirm daily and weekly schedules

? Inspect and confirm that company vehicles are clean, orderly, and well maintained before departing and coordinate any special requests with Charter Operations
? Perform all pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection tasks and add fluids as required
? Safely negotiate various routes through varied terrain and geographic areas
? Utilize trip sheets, maps, itineraries, signs, and any other necessary supporting documentation to complete trip to customer’s specifications and expectations
? Interact with clients, customers, sub-contracted drivers, and fellow company drivers onsite in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner
? Assist passengers in boarding and exiting the vehicle and load and unload bicycle and luggage from rack, storage bays, or overhead compartments
? Respond to Charter Operations driver-monitoring communications such as: 1hr check-in, actual start, mid-route check-in, spot check-in, and actual finish
? Communicate with Charter Operations using tools in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) for the purpose of gathering and/or conveying information
? Document required activities on a variety of manual and/or electronic documents such as:
o Work Order, Driver’s Log, Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR), Bus Check Out, Daily Time Record, etc.
? Comply with all applicable government regulations, policies, and standards as well as all company administrative policies, procedures, and safety rules
? Proactively communicate with Charter Operations and customer any service issues (e.g., late pickups and departures) and ensure other incidents are relayed to appropriate parties
? Relay customer requested itinerary/route changes with Charter Operations or Business Development and Reservations to expedite approval
? Ensure the following documents are accurate and complete before submitting:

o Driver logs are accurate and submitted daily o DVIRs are complete and signed off when maintenance issues are addressed

o Bus check out sheets are noted for new damage with proper investigation ensuing
o Work Orders complete with all times, mileages, passenger counts, and signatures

o Daily Time Records complete with all necessary and accurate information, including signatures
? Inspect vehicle for items left behind and coordinate immediate return to customer when possible, or submit to Charter Operations
? Maintain vehicle order and cleanliness and dump the sewage waste collection receptacle as needed when away from the home terminal
? Provide operational feedback to Charter Operations to help improve service response
? Perform duties and functions to help streamline the daily business operations of the Company
? Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing additional tasks and assignments as needed
? Use on-board microphone to impart information for the orientation of city tours, to provide guests with informative and enjoyable commentary as they travel on day trips/tours for both per capita assignments and charter; training is provided in these cases.

In light of the nature of the transportation industry, the Company does not maintain regular business hours. Your schedule, the number, and types of routes assigned will vary and be determined by the Company’s specific business needs. The Company does not guarantee any set number of hours, days, or route assignments. Schedules are subject to change and may require early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, or multiple-day shifts. Flexibility with the work schedule and the ability to work any shift assigned is required.

Education / Experience
? Minimum 2 years’ total experience with CDL (Class A or B)
? Minimum 1-year experience operating vehicle "in-type" (similar to prospective position)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
? Class A or B California driver’s license with a passenger endorsement and air brakes certification ? Have or able to obtain School Pupil Activity Bus ("SPAB") certification
o Have First-Aid Certification (if required)

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents in English. Ability to write in English routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.

Mathematical Skills
Demonstrates strong general math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Performs these operations with units of American currency, Regular and Military time, and imperial measurements of weight, volume, and distance.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of the following software applications, and proficiency as indicated below.

? iPhone or Android cellular phone/tablet PCs
? Google Maps, Waze, or other map/routing application

Other Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
? Minimum 5 years’ U.S driving experience
? Minimum 6 months of commercial driving experience
o 6 months of commercial driving experience in like vehicle
? Team member must be at least 25 years of age to satisfy insurance requirements
? Current medical card
? Clean DMV H6 Record (less than 30 days old)
o No DUIs within last seven years
o No more than one DMV point or moving violation within the last 3 years
o No more than one preventable accident in the previous 12 months and no more than two preventable accidents in the previous 36 months
o No more than one major preventable accident within the previous 36 months
? Pass a background check

o This position is designated as requiring a background check due to the nature of the job responsibilities. The Company will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the background check
o No applicant may have been convicted for any of the disqualifying offenses defined in 49 CFR Part 383.51 and 383.53 of the Federal Motor Carrier Regulations

? Pass a drug test as required by the Department of Transportation and Lux Bus America Co.
o The duties of this position are so fraught with hazard that any attempt to perform them while in a state of alcohol or drug impairment would pose a threat to co-workers, to the workplace, or to the public at large. Accordingly, this position is deemed a safety-sensitive position. As a result, we require team members operating in this position to submit to random drug-testing throughout the course of employment. Moreover, the Company will take appropriate action for refusing to take or failing such test
